Switchbacks assistant coach and SPFC Academy head coach Johnny Oceguera had this to say about joining MPL,"Switchbacks Pride FC are beyond excited to be joining the MPL league for the 2023 fall season. This was a great opportunity to add games of value for our academy team. The potential and future of the MPL league is one that was very enticing to us and we're looking forward to contributing to the growth of the league and it's vision. Excited for the competition, the relationships and the overall growth of the game as we get the ball rolling for 2023."

Mountain Premier league looks to incorporate District and State League systems across Utah Colorado Idaho and Wyoming. The league is proud to help develop the top up and coming clubs. With its modest fee structure and "play at cost formula", clubs find a unique mix of high level play with autonomy in their business practices and soccer product. League administrator Matt Morse often reminds clubs in the preseason meetings that when it comes to budgeting for this competition your home matches are a representation of your organization, the amenities provided are your choice and built into your business model. The league minimum standards remain using the Select Sports America matchballs and regulated field surface and dimensions.
The MPL Fall champion plays the Cascadia Premier League champion to see who will progress to the NISA Nation Finals. The MPL finals winner also receives berth into the NISA Independent Cup in July of each year.
